Welcome to Computing NI, a portal website for information about computing and computing degrees and careers available in Northern Ireland and wider.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to know more about computing! The site is designed from a pupil or student's perspective, but most of the material will also be useful for teachers, parents, careers advisers and the public at large.
Why is it necessary?
Most of the population believe that the passing of the dot.com era and off-shoring of computing jobs mean there are few UK jobs. Nothing could be further from the truth - there are more jobs today than at any point in our past. It is more efficient for companies to recruit locally if they can - but they need a local workforce. We are entering a digital age - our lives are underpinned by computing technology - yet very few of us have any idea about the incredible diversity of computing or the range of computing-related careers on offer.
